I specifically made two real spot trades to investigate this.

The result: this test account's two rebates were both paid — but they weren't in the spot order; they were on the "My Rebates" page.

Take one of the BNB trades as an example: the order deducted a 0.00001050 BNB fee, and the corresponding rebate record showed 0.00126774 USDC. It isn't the number you get by multiplying the order fee by 20%, and you have to go to "My Rebates" separately to see it.

Two other things also didn't match what I originally expected:

Both rewards ended up displayed as USDC, and the timestamps on the order and the rebate page differed by 8 hours.3

If you filled in a referral code when registering on Binance but still haven't seen the fee rebate after trading, you can work through this article's check order.

Test result in this article: the trade records come from a real CoinTrailHub account, the rebate data comes from Binance's "My Rebates" page, and the relevant calculation basis was additionally confirmed with Binance official support.

New to Binance? For the full order from registration, entering the referral code, to trading and withdrawal, see the Binance complete tutorial first; this article focuses on troubleshooting rebates that haven't arrived.

Three things to remember first

  1. The rebate doesn't necessarily show in the spot order. Both of my orders deducted fees normally; the corresponding rebates were found in "My Rebates".2
  2. Both of this article's rebates ended up displayed as USDC. Also, the timestamps on the rebate page and the spot order differed by 8 hours.
  3. I actually tested one trade with BNB fee payment on, and one with it off. In both cases the "referral rebate" appeared.

About 8 minutes to read. Remember the two easiest places to misjudge first: the rebate doesn't necessarily show in the spot order — check "My Rebates"; and both of this article's rebates were paid in USDC, with the page timestamps possibly 8 hours apart.

1. First check whether the referral code actually took effect

A few days ago, while checking my Binance referral-code rebate, I found a place that's quite easy to misread.

The account clearly shows:

Referred-user spot rebate rate: 20%

But after buying, when I opened the spot order, I still saw the fee deducted normally, with no "20% rebate" type of record.

So did that 20% actually get rebated?

I didn't jump straight to calculating the fee. Instead, I first confirmed one thing:

Whether this account actually has a referral relationship.

In the Binance App, go to:

Refer & Earn → Co-Inviter → Referrals

The page shows:

You registered via the <Co-Inviter referral code>

And below that:

Referred-user spot rebate rate: 20% Referred-user futures rebate rate: 20%

Binance referred-user page, showing that you registered via the Co-Inviter referral code, with referred-user spot and futures rebate rates both at 20%

CoinTrailHub tested · 2026-09

Only at this point did I confirm this account could be used for testing.

Not "I remember maybe entering a referral code when I registered", but Binance's current account page actually showing a referral relationship, with a 20% spot rebate rate.

If you can't find any referral relationship here at all, there's no point researching the rebate further.

I previously investigated this question with a real account; you can see:

How to check whether Binance referral code BN522 is bound? Where to see the referral relationship

That article solves "do I even have a referrer"; this article doesn't repeat the whole check process.

One more place that's easy to misread:

The your own referral code shown in the account isn't the same thing as this.

Your own referral code is for inviting others; you can't use it to judge whether you yourself registered through someone else's referral relationship.

In Binance's current Co-Inviter system, the referred-user rebate rate isn't fixed at a single value either. Binance's current Co-Inviter documentation shows that the referred-user rebate rate has specific rate settings and a cap, so ultimately you should go by what your own account page actually shows. (Binance)

2. First trade: buying BNB, with the BNB fee discount on

After confirming this account shows a 20% spot rebate, I first bought some BNB.

Item Test result
Trading pair BNB/USDT
Bought amount 0.014 BNB
Average fill price 680.51 USDT
Fill amount 9.52714 USDT
Fee 0.00001050 BNB
BNB fee payment On
Fill time 2026-09-02 04:28

BNB/USDT fill record, showing 0.014 BNB bought, fill amount 9.52714 USDT, fee 0.00001050 BNB

CoinTrailHub tested · 2026-09-02

This is the easiest place to suspect "there's no rebate".

The order deducted normally:

0.00001050 BNB

And I didn't see anywhere on this page that said "20% rebate".

If I'd only looked here, I'd also suspect the referral code didn't take effect.

But the rebate actually isn't on this page.

Also, for this trade I had "Use BNB to pay trading fees" turned on at the time.

Binance's current official spot fee schedule shows that the standard spot maker/taker fee for regular users is 0.100% / 0.100%, and paying with BNB shows the 25%-discounted rate.[4]The exact fee should still be based on your account's current level and Binance's actual page.

View Binance's official spot trading fee schedule

3. Where's the rebate? Not in the order

After the trade completed, I went to "My Rebates".

The corresponding record appeared:

Order type: Spot Reward type: Referral rebate Status: Distributed

Initial amount:

0.00000187 BNB

Then a conversion record:

1 BNB ≈ 677.93900788 USDC

Finally showing:

0.00126774 USDC

BNB spot referral rebate record, initial reward 0.00000187 BNB, converted at the shown rate to a final 0.00126774 USDC

CoinTrailHub tested · 2026-09

So this rebate really exists.

It's just that Binance doesn't write it directly in the spot fill order.

If you also open the order after buying, see the fee deducted, and conclude "the 20% wasn't rebated", go check "My Rebates" again.

4. I expected BNB back, but it actually showed USDC

Here's another place I didn't expect at first.

This order was charged a BNB fee:

0.00001050 BNB

The rebate record initially also showed:

0.00000187 BNB

But the final amount later became:

0.00126774 USDC

The middle of the page also gave the BNB-to-USDC conversion rate.

So if you keep staring at your BNB balance looking for a matching "BNB rebate", you might not find one.

At least what I saw this time was:

The BNB reward amount is recorded first, then converted at the rate shown on the page, and the final reward record is displayed as USDC.

The second XRP trade later did the same.

Here I'm only recording what actually happened in this account; it doesn't mean every Binance account will use the exact same payout currency from now on.

5. The timestamps also don't match — 8 hours apart

I specifically cross-checked this at first too.

Fill time in the spot order:

2026-09-02 04:28

Corresponding trade time on the rebate page:

2026-09-01 20:28

Exactly 8 hours apart.

So if you're searching rebate records date by date, also watch out for this time difference.

This time I matched the trading symbol, fill time and rebate record together to confirm it was the same trade.

Again, this records what my account page actually displayed. Whether different regions, devices, or Binance's later pages still use the same time display, go by your own account's current page.

6. Second trade: turned BNB fee payment off and bought XRP

My first trade had "Use BNB to pay trading fees" on.

Binance officially still states that, with this feature on, eligible spot and margin trades can use BNB to pay fees and enjoy up to a 25% fee discount; this feature can also be turned on and off on the account or spot trading page.

Binance official: How to use BNB to pay fees and get a discount

So I wanted to confirm another question:

If I don't use BNB to pay fees, will this test account still show a referral rebate?

I turned the feature off.

The toggle page for turning off "Use BNB to pay trading fees"

CoinTrailHub tested · 2026-09

Then bought some XRP.

Item Test result
Trading pair XRP/USDT
Bought amount 7.4 XRP
Fill price 1.3458 USDT
Fill amount 9.95892 USDT
Fee 0.00740000 XRP
BNB fee payment Off
Fill time 2026-09-02 05:36:20

XRP/USDT fill record, showing 7.4 XRP bought, fill amount 9.95892 USDT, fee 0.00740000 XRP

CoinTrailHub tested · 2026-09-02

This time the fee was charged directly:

0.00740000 XRP

A while later I went back to "My Rebates", and the corresponding record appeared:

Reward type: Referral rebate Status: Distributed

Initial reward:

0.0013616 XRP

Finally showing:

0.00183836 USDC

XRP spot referral rebate record, initial reward 0.0013616 XRP, converted to a final 0.00183836 USDC

CoinTrailHub tested · 2026-09

Putting the two trades side by side:

BNB/USDT XRP/USDT
BNB fee payment On Off
Account's spot rebate shown 20% 20%
Order produced a fee Yes Yes
Referral rebate appeared Yes Yes
Final status Distributed Distributed
Final currency shown USDC USDC

So what these two real trades can confirm is:

With BNB fee payment on, this account produced a referral rebate; after turning it off, the second trade also produced a referral rebate.

I won't take just these two trades and write further that "all accounts can stack them" or "the two mechanisms are completely independent".

This only records what actually happened in these two real trades.

7. Why can't you just multiply the order fee by 20%?

The second XRP trade has another point worth mentioning.

The order fee was:

0.00740000 XRP

If you directly multiply this number by 20%:

0.0074 × 20% = 0.00148 XRP

But the initial amount actually shown on the rebate page was:

0.0013616 XRP

Not simply 0.00148 XRP.

I later asked Binance support.

The explanation support gave this time was:

The calculation basis for the 20% spot rebate is the net trading fee the referred user actually paid.[1]

Binance support reply, explaining that the 20% spot rebate is calculated on the net trading fee the referred user actually paid

CoinTrailHub tested · 2026-09

So here I'm not going to keep reverse-engineering the formula myself.

At least what can be confirmed is:

20% is not 20% of the trade amount.

Also, you can't just take the fee shown on the order page, multiply it by 20%, and conclude the final rebate must equal that number.

Binance's official BNB-fee documentation also mentions that the actual trading fee is calculated based on the final filled quantity; for non-BNB pairs that involve BNB fee conversion, a corresponding conversion price may also be used, so ultimately go by the actual trade history and account records. (Binance)

If your rebate number isn't exactly what you calculated, you can't judge "the rebate was short" from that alone.

8. If you also don't see the rebate, check these 5 places first

Now let me check again — I wouldn't start by calculating 20%.

I'd first look at these places:

1. Is there a referral relationship?

Go to:

Refer & Earn → Co-Inviter → Referrals

and see whether the account actually registered through a referral program.

If you don't know how to check, see first:

How to check whether Binance referral code BN522 is bound? Where to see the referral relationship

2. Is there a rebate rate on the page?

My test account shows:

Spot 20%

What your account shows, go by the actual page.

3. Did the order actually produce a fee?

Open the fill details and see whether this trade produced a fee.

4. Is there a matching record in "My Rebates"?

Key thing to look for:

Referral rebate

Then see whether the status is:

Distributed

5. Do the currency and timestamp match?

Both of my rewards this time ended up displayed as USDC.

Also, the first order and the rebate page showed timestamps 8 hours apart.

If all these line up, you basically know where the rebate went.

If the account clearly has a referral relationship and a rebate rate, and the order produced a fee, but you still can't find the matching "referral rebate", I'd suggest contacting Binance official support directly with the order ID and relevant screenshots.

9. What if there's no referral relationship at all?

Then it isn't a "rebate hasn't arrived" problem.

If both the Binance page and support confirm there's currently no referrer, what you should check next is:

Whether this old account can still establish a referral relationship now.

I also actually tested this question before:

That article discusses what to do when there's no existing referral relationship — not the same situation as this article.

One-sentence summary

This test account clearly shows a 20% spot rebate.

I turned BNB fee payment on and off and made two real spot trades, and both were ultimately found in "My Rebates" as:

Referral rebate

Both with status:

Distributed

So if you filled in a referral code and feel there's no rebate, check the referral relationship first, then look for the record in "My Rebates" — don't only look at the spot fill order.

FAQ

Why is there no rebate after filling in a Binance referral code?

First confirm whether the referral code actually established a referral relationship.

If it did, go to "My Rebates" and check.

In CoinTrailHub's two real trades this time, neither rebate showed directly in the spot fill order — they appeared separately as "Referral rebate".

How do I know whether the Binance referral code took effect?

This test checked at:

Refer & Earn → Co-Inviter → Referrals

The test account shows:

You registered via the <Co-Inviter referral code>

And also shows a 20% spot rebate rate.

For the full check process, see:

How to check whether Binance referral code BN522 is bound? Where to see the referral relationship

Where do I see the Binance rebate?

This test found it in "My Rebates".

The corresponding record shows:

Reward type: Referral rebate

and:

Status: Distributed

Why was the fee deducted in the order, but the rebate isn't shown in the order?

At least in these two real tests, the fill order and the referral rebate are displayed separately.

The order records the fee normally, and the rebate appears separately in "My Rebates".

Why did the rebate end up as USDC?

Both of this article's reward details first showed the initial reward currency and amount, then the conversion info, and the final amounts were both displayed as USDC.

Whether other accounts and later rules are the same, go by Binance's current page.

Does the BNB fee discount affect the referral rebate?

In this test, the BNB/USDT trade with BNB fee payment on produced a referral rebate; the XRP/USDT trade after turning the feature off also produced a referral rebate.

This article only records these two test results, and doesn't infer from them that all accounts and all trades are exactly the same.

What if there's no referral relationship?

If you've confirmed there's currently no referrer, you can continue to:

Found a problem or a rule change?

If you find that Binance's rebate page, payout currency, or calculation method is already different from this article, you can tell us through CoinTrailHub's contact page.

We'll update the article after verifying.

If it's your own account showing a rebate anomaly, I'd suggest contacting Binance official support directly, and never give verification codes, passwords, API secrets, passkeys, or seed phrases to a so-called "rebate support".
