New to Binance? Don't start clicking around. Follow this order — download the App → sign up → KYC verification → security setup → buy USDT → buy/withdraw — and each step has a dedicated guide to click into. If all goes smoothly, sign-up plus KYC takes under half an hour. The two easiest ways to get stuck are downloading a fake App, and treating "account created" as "KYC verified."

This is a path overview for Binance beginners: it links the six steps into one route and tells you which guide to read at each step. The actual steps, review times, fees and troubleshooting live in the linked guides, not repeated here.[1]

3. Each step, in one line (jump to the guide)

Step 1: Download the App

Android and iPhone download sources are different; what matters most is confirming the source, not which link is fastest. Don't install APKs from random download sites, group chats or file shares. For the official sources and how to spot a fake, see Binance official download.

Step 2: Sign up

Open an account with an email or phone number you'll keep long-term, double-check the country code and spelling, get the verification code and set a separate password. This step completes sign-up, not KYC. For where to enter the referral code and how to fix sign-up problems, see Binance sign-up guide.

Step 3: KYC verification

To deposit and trade after signing up, complete identity verification: upload your ID + face verification, and treat the "Verified" status on the Identity Verification page as the benchmark. For review times, failure reasons and fixes, see Binance KYC guide.

Step 4: Security setup

Before moving money, do three things: enable two-factor authentication, set an anti-phishing code, and check your login devices. Don't rush into large operations right after signing up. For the full security checklist, see Account security checklist.

Step 5: Buy USDT / buy crypto

Most beginners first buy USDT via P2P, then use USDT to buy BTC and other coins. When buying USDT, don't just pick the lowest price — check the seller's completion rate, order count and payment methods. For the step-by-step P2P flow, see Buy USDT via P2P; for spot-buying BTC, see How to buy Bitcoin.

Step 6: Withdraw / cash out

When you need to move coins out, picking the wrong network can lose them — different networks have different fees and arrival times. For the withdrawal flow and network choice, see Binance withdrawal guide.

4. Four mistakes beginners make most

  1. Downloading a fake App: only trust official channels; avoid "special versions" or "cracked versions" from unknown sources. See Binance official download.
  2. Treating "account created" as "KYC verified": passing the verification code only opens the account; you need verification to trade. See Binance KYC guide.
  3. P2P: only looking at the lowest price: the quote isn't the whole cost — the seller's completion rate and payment terms matter more. See Buy USDT via P2P.
  4. Withdrawing on the wrong network: deposit/withdraw network errors can make funds unrecoverable. See Binance withdrawal guide.

5. FAQ

What is the first step for a Binance beginner?

Download the official App, sign up with an email or phone number, then complete KYC. Follow the six-step path here — each step has a linked guide.

Does signing up on Binance always require KYC?

Creating an account only needs a phone number or email, but depositing and trading require KYC identity verification. For requirements and failure handling, see Binance KYC guide.

Do I need to buy USDT before buying crypto on Binance?

The common path is to first buy USDT via P2P, then use USDT to buy BTC and other coins. You can also deposit fiat through a supported on-ramp. See Buy USDT via P2P and How to buy Bitcoin.

Should beginners use Convert or Spot?

For simplicity, start with Convert; to control the price yourself, learn Spot limit and market orders. Beginners don't need to use every feature right away.

6. How do you know you've finished the path?

Don't use "I downloaded the App" as your completion bar. Judge by four results:

You can log in: your contact method is verified and the account is yours.

KYC passed: the Identity Verification page shows "Verified."

You've made a buy: you've completed one USDT purchase and the balance matches the records.

You can withdraw: you know how to pick a network and start a withdrawal.

Wherever you're stuck, solve that step first — no need to restart from scratch. The most important thing for a beginner isn't trying every Binance feature as fast as possible, but getting the "where money enters, where to check it, and how to confirm it's done" line working.

Content verification and risk note

This is a path overview for Binance beginners; specific operations, review times, fees and troubleshooting follow the linked guides and the current platform pages. Path order may change as products update — always follow Binance's official documentation.

Crypto trading can involve loss of principal, payment risk and account restrictions. Passing identity verification does not mean trading is legal in every region; always follow your local laws. This article is for operational guidance and risk information only, not investment advice.
