What is Binance Earn? In one line: you put idle coins into Binance's official "Earn" and collect rewards daily.

It comes in two main forms: Flexible (redeem anytime, lower yield) and Locked (lock for a period, usually higher yield). The key difference is not the APR number — it's the redemption rule: redeeming a Locked product early forfeits the rewards accrued for that period.

About 10 minutes to read. Remember two things first: don't lock up coins you may need soon; "Simple Earn" protects the number of coins, not their fiat value — if the coin's price drops, you still lose money.

First, decide which one fits you:

Your situationWhat to pick
You may trade or withdraw these coins soonPick Flexible to keep liquidity
You won't need them for a while and want more yieldCompare Locked yield and lock-up period
You just want a short-term boosted rateCheck which amount tier and period the boost applies to
You hold BNB and want new-token rewardsReview BNB Earn and the current campaign rules
You can't afford to lose principalDon't treat Earn as a risk-free bank deposit

The rule of thumb: first figure out when you'll need the coins, then look at how much you'll actually earn — don't just pick the highest APR on the page.

1. What is Binance Earn (Simple Earn)?

Binance Earn appears in the app as "Earn"; its official product name is Simple Earn. You subscribe coins into Flexible or Locked products, and Binance uses them for platform operations, lending, and similar activities, then pays you rewards daily.[1][2]

First, tell the layers apart so you don't get lost:

  • Simple Earn: Flexible + Locked, which this guide covers.
  • Advanced Earn: products like Dual Investment, which can convert your principal into another coin and can lose money — a different product line, not covered here.
  • BNB extras: BNB in Flexible or Locked automatically joins Launchpool new-token mining; BNB in Locked can also join Megadrop.

Rewards are paid in the same coin: deposit ETH to earn ETH, deposit USDT to earn USDT. This matters a lot, and we'll come back to it in the risk section.

2. Flexible vs Locked: the differences at a glance

Locked products come in two flavors — floating and fixed APR — but start with the big picture:

FactorFlexibleLocked
RateReal-Time APR, updates every minuteFloating or fixed
Can you withdraw anytimeYes, redemption doesn't forfeit rewardsOnly loss-free at maturity
Early redemptionDoesn't forfeit accrued rewardsForfeits all rewards accrued this period
Lock-upNoneYes (commonly 7/30/60/90 days, etc.)
Redemption arrivalUsually instant, but with daily limitsEarly redemption usually up to 72 hours

In one sentence: Flexible buys you "withdraw anytime", Locked buys you "higher yield" — at the cost of lock-up and zeroing your rewards on early redemption. If you're not sure you'll need the coins, pick Flexible.

3. Flexible: how to subscribe, and how yield is paid

How to subscribe

  1. Log into the Binance app and open the "Earn" or "Simple Earn" page.[4]
  2. Search for the coin you want to deposit, like USDT or USDC.
  3. Find that coin's "Flexible" product, tap "Subscribe", and enter the amount.
  4. Review the Real-Time APR, tiered APR, subscription limits and product rules, then confirm.

Flexible yield has two parts, paid to different places

This is the part beginners most often get wrong. Flexible has two reward types:[2]

  • Real-Time APR rewards: accrue every minute and go straight into your Earn Wallet balance. This APR can change every minute — it's not fixed after you subscribe.
  • Tiered APR rewards: some Flexible products give an extra reward on qualifying amounts, usually paid to your Spot Wallet between 08:00–16:00 (UTC+8) two days after subscription.

So subscribing today doesn't mean you'll see every reward in your Spot Wallet today — real-time rewards sit in the Earn Wallet, and tiered rewards arrive a day or two later in Spot.

How to redeem

Go to Assets → Earn, find the Flexible position, tap "Redeem", enter the amount and confirm. Normally the assets return to your Spot Wallet, but watch three exceptions:[2]

  • Daily redemption limit: each Flexible product may have its own daily cap.
  • Insufficient liquidity: mass redemptions, sharp market moves, or system issues may delay arrival.
  • Assets used as collateral: if the Flexible assets are pledged for Binance Flexible Loan, you must repay and release the collateral first.

So "redeem anytime" means you can submit a qualifying redemption anytime — not that any amount is guaranteed to arrive instantly.

4. Locked: how long, and what happens on early redemption

Lock-up period and payout

Locked products ask you to pick a period, commonly 7 / 30 / 60 / 90 days, varying by coin. Rates come in two kinds:[3]

  • Fixed APR: once subscribed, the rate stays as confirmed for that period.
  • Floating APR: the rate may still adjust even after you've subscribed.

Open the "Product Rules" before subscribing to confirm which kind you're getting. Rewards are usually paid daily to your Spot Wallet; some products may accrue and pay everything at maturity instead.

Early redemption (the single biggest trap)

You can redeem a Locked product before maturity, but the cost is: all rewards accrued this period are zeroed out, and rewards already paid may be clawed back from the returned principal, which usually takes up to 72 hours to reach your Spot Wallet.[3]

An example:

What you doRewardsPrincipal
Lock 30 days, hold to maturityKeep all 30 days of rewardsReturns to Spot at maturity
Redeem early on day 10First 10 days zeroed out, paid rewards clawed backUsually up to 72 hours to return

Say you subscribe 1,000 USDT to a Locked product and already received 2 USDT in rewards before redeeming early. If the "claw back all rewards" rule applies, you might get 998 USDT back — which, plus the 2 USDT already paid, totals 1,000. That's not a 2 USDT fee; it's Binance taking back rewards it already paid you.

Two more points: some special Locked products don't support early redemption, and a qualifying early-redemption request usually can't be undone once confirmed.

So Locked is only for coins you're sure you won't touch. To keep partial flexibility on a large amount, split it into several subscriptions (e.g., 100 into four lots of 25) so you can redeem just one lot later without affecting the other three.

5. How is yield calculated? What does a 5% APR actually pay?

APR and APY are not the same

MetricMeaning
APR (annual percentage rate)Annualized simple rate; rewards don't compound into principal
APY (annual percentage yield)Annualized rate assuming compounding

Binance mainly shows APR. Some Flexible real-time rewards accumulate in the Earn Wallet, but Locked auto-renewal generally doesn't automatically add paid rewards back into the next period's principal — so don't assume "auto-subscribe" means full compounding.

The simple formula

Daily estimated reward = amount × APR ÷ 365. If 1,000 USDT held a constant 5% APR:

Holding periodTheoretical reward (USDT)
1 day≈ 0.1370
7 days≈ 0.9589
30 days≈ 4.1096
90 days≈ 12.3288

This is a math example at a fixed APR — it doesn't mean Binance currently offers a 5% product, and it ignores platform rounding and specific reward rules.

6. Tiered APR is the real catch: the top rate doesn't apply to your whole balance

This is what most guides gloss over. The boosted rate isn't simply the highest number on the page multiplied by your full balance — the tiered reward often covers only a small slice of it.

Take the flexible tiers listed in Binance's announcement on 2026-10-21:[5]

CoinReal-Time APRTiered reward APRTier covered
USDT≈ 2.5%4%0 – 500 USDT
USDC≈ 2.5%2%0 – 10,000 USDC
ETH≈ 1.2%0.1%0 – 0.2 ETH

These are approximations and tiers as of the announcement — not a live quote for your account — so always check the product page.

Example: 10,000 USDT in Flexible is not all at 6.5%.

Assume the USDT real-time APR stays at 2.5%, and the extra 4% tiered rate applies only to the first 500 USDT. Then:

  • Base part: 10,000 × 2.5% = 250 USDT / year
  • Tiered part: 500 × 4% = 20 USDT / year
  • Total ≈ 270 USDT / year, which on 10,000 USDT is about 2.7% simple annualized — not 6.5%.

That's why two people subscribing to USDT Flexible with different amounts can end up with different effective rates. When comparing, first ask "how much does this boosted tier actually cover?"

7. Is it safe? What does "Simple Earn" actually protect?

Binance calls this product line "Simple Earn" — "principal-protected" in the sense of the number of coins, meaning 1 ETH stays 1 ETH, not that its fiat value is unchanged, and not bank deposit insurance. Binance's own pages also state that "the value of virtual assets can fluctuate significantly" and "you may not be able to recover your investment principal".[1]

Separate the four risks:

1. Coin price risk

Suppose you bought 1 ETH for $3,000 and subscribe it to ETH Flexible. If ETH falls to $2,000, you lose money in fiat terms even if you earned a little extra ETH. Earn grows your coin count — it doesn't offset a falling coin price.

2. Stablecoin depeg risk

USDT and USDC aim to track the US dollar, but they aren't dollar bank deposits. If a stablecoin depegs or its issuer/redemption mechanism runs into trouble, the real redeemable value can drop even if the on-paper balance doesn't.

3. Platform and lending risk

The Flexible guide notes that some Earn assets are provided to platform operations and lending. Even with collateral management, there's still borrower default, sharp market moves, security incidents, and other extreme scenarios.[2]

4. Liquidity and redemption risk

Flexible is subject to daily limits and pool liquidity; Locked can forfeit all current-period rewards on early redemption, arrive late, or not support early redemption at all.

So the conclusion is: "principal-protected", "low-risk" and "redeem anytime" don't mean zero loss or zero liquidity risk. Only put in spare funds whose price swings you can absorb — don't chase that yield with money you need for living expenses.

8. Auto-Subscribe and auto-renewal: set once, let it roll

Two automation features, but they work differently:[2][3]

  • Flexible Auto-Subscribe: the system checks your idle Spot balance daily at 02:00 and 16:00 UTC and auto-subscribes qualifying Flexible products. Note that idle Spot balance may be auto-moved into Earn — check your available balance before trading or withdrawing.
  • Locked auto-renewal: at maturity, the system auto-renews the same term, but usually only with the original principal — paid rewards go back to Spot and don't automatically join the next period. If the original product is full, the system may move matured assets into the same coin's Flexible product instead.

So auto-renewal doesn't lock in a specific APR forever, and it doesn't guarantee you'll get the same product each time.

9. Does BNB in Earn automatically join Launchpool?

Qualifying BNB Flexible and Locked positions can automatically join Binance Launchpool new-token mining when a campaign is live; BNB Locked may also qualify for Megadrop points, and qualifying positions may receive HODLer Airdrops.[2][3]

But it's not "deposit and you're guaranteed" — eligibility depends on your region, product rules, whether a campaign is open, and how positions are calculated. If BNB Flexible is used as loan collateral, or already redeemed for trading, some campaign eligibility may be affected.

If your only goal is new-token rewards, check the current campaign eligibility first — don't buy BNB just because a product once gave an extra reward. BNB's own price risk doesn't disappear inside Earn (Is BNB worth buying? Do the math first).

10. FAQ

Which pays more, Binance Earn Flexible or Locked?

Locked usually offers a higher APR, but it's not guaranteed to always beat Flexible. Some Flexible products have extra tiered rewards or limited-time campaigns, so compare using the same coin, a similar period, and the rate that actually applies to your amount — not just the biggest number on the page.

Can I redeem Binance Flexible anytime?

You can submit a qualifying redemption request anytime, and it normally returns to your Spot Wallet on success. But daily limits, insufficient liquidity, system issues, or collateral use can restrict or delay it.

Can I redeem Binance Locked early?

Some Locked products allow early redemption, but it usually forfeits all rewards accrued this period, and rewards already paid may be clawed back from the returned principal. Some special Locked products don't support early redemption — check the product rules before subscribing.

How long does a Locked early redemption take?

Binance usually notes up to about 72 hours to return to your Spot Wallet, possibly longer in special cases. Don't treat early redemption as instant withdrawal like Flexible.

Does Binance Earn pay rewards daily?

Not uniformly. Flexible Real-Time APR rewards accrue every minute into the Earn Wallet, while tiered rewards are usually paid to the Spot Wallet two days after subscription; ordinary Locked rewards are usually paid daily to Spot, and some products may pay everything at maturity.

How much does 1,000 USDT earn in a day on Binance Earn?

It depends on the current APR and reward tier. If the full amount were at a constant 5% APR, 1,000 × 5% ÷ 365 ≈ 0.137 USDT per day. The real number must be calculated against current rates and product rules.

Can Binance Earn lose principal?

Yes, potentially. Coin price drops, stablecoin depegs, and platform/lending risks can all cause losses. Although Binance markets the product as "Simple Earn" and principal-protected by coin count, it also states that you "may not be able to recover your investment principal".

Does Binance Earn auto-subscribe mean automatic compounding?

Partially. Some Flexible real-time rewards accumulate in the Earn Wallet, but Locked auto-renewal generally doesn't add paid rewards back into the next period's principal. Check the actual payout method rather than assuming full compounding from "auto-subscribe".

Do both BNB Flexible and Locked earn new-token airdrops?

Qualifying BNB Flexible and Locked products may join Launchpool and HODLer Airdrops, and BNB Locked may also join Megadrop. Whether you get them depends on the current campaign and eligibility — airdrops aren't guaranteed.
